Since 2009, the research team began to develop marine exhaust gas cleaning technology. On the basis of the previous research and development results, the multi-method develop marine exhaust gas cleaning experiment was tried on the “Binghe" vessel of COSCO, and the "magnesium-based & seawater method" specially used for develop marine exhaust gas cleaning was first developed. In 2012, the self-developed marine exhaust gas cleaning (EGC) system met the most stringent requirements for ship sulfur emissions, and successfully passed the Marine desulfurization test approval of China Classification Society (CCS). The magnesium-based technology has been systematically researched and formed in collaboration with COSCO Shipping, COSIC, Dalian University of Technology and other institutions, under the support of the National High-tech Ship Scientific Research Program of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance. We installed and operated EGC engineering prototype on the ship "Lingyunhe", carried out industrial transformation cooperation, and provided EGC design, test, inspection and other technical support for the industrial cooperation unit awarded the first AIP of the Principle of Exhaust Gas Cleaning System by China Classification Society in 2016. In 2022, the research team, in cooperation with Jiangsu Jinyang Group, Jinqiao Deke Group, 702 Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry and other industrial and research institutions, set up and established Jiangsu HeYi Environmental Engineering Co., LTD in Wuxi, Jiangsu.
